Dr. Kiet selected as a Fellow of the 17th HOPE Meeting with Nobel Laureates in Tsukuba!
Dr. Kiet participated in the 17th HOPE Meeting with Nobel Laureates, held at the Tsukuba International Congress Center from March 1 to 6, as one of 24 representatives selected from Japan.
The HOPE Meeting is organized for outstanding graduate students and young researchers (approximately 109 participants), particularly from countries and regions in the Asia-Pacific and Africa. The program provides participants with opportunities to engage in discussions with Nobel Laureates, as well as leading scientists at the forefront of their respective fields. In addition, it offers a valuable platform for building international academic networks and fostering potential collaborations with peers from diverse backgrounds.
During the meeting, Dr. Kiet delivered a one-minute flash talk and presented a poster entitled “Sustainable Porous Carbon Materials Derived from Kraft Lignin for High-Efficiency CO2 Capture”.
In addition to the lectures, participants were divided into 10 groups to discuss and present on the theme “Science and Society”. The objective of this activity was to address the question: What can scientists do to contribute to achieving one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?
Dr. Kiet and his team were honored with the Best Team Presentation Award, recognizing their outstanding teamwork, innovative ideas, and ability to communicate scientific concepts with relevance to global challenges.
